Course Aim
A basic rope skill worker shall be capable of performing a limited range of rope access tasks required by his or her employers, under the supervision of an intermediate or advance rope skill worker. He/she is:
- responsible for inspections of all his/her own personal rope access equipment;
- able to assist in rigging and non-standard operations, under the guidance of a higher grade;
- able to undertake a rescue involving descent by him/herself and have a knowledge of hauling systems.
Target Audience
For operator(s) / companies who requires to use rope access method as a means of access to perform their tasks.
Assumed Skills & Knowledge
The Learner is recommended to have at least WSQ ESS Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 3 and above or equivalent. Basic knowledge workplace safety, processes, procedures, practices and activities.
